Stirling edition, gray cloth over beveled boards lettered and extensively decorated in gilt, silver gilt and dark blue, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, illustrated with black and white tissue-protected plates mainly of Scottish scenes. Covers have some light edge rubbing, a shallow scratch to the rear cover, good hinges, sound text block, clean pages with just a few instances of tan age-spotting (foxing), and a delightful poetic gift notation on the front free endpaper followed by a 1906 note in the same handwriting signed Teresa. The poem reads: It may ensue, fair sir, that you / Years hence this yellowing leaf may see, / And put to task, your memory ask / In vain, "This Teresa, who was she? '. Hard Cover. Very Good. 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall.
