Notes: [1976] Hardcover. THIS IS THE FULL LEATHER 1976 EDITION BY EASTON PRESS---NOT THE TRADE BOOK, OR A SIMULATED LEATHER COPY, FACSIMILE, OR COMPOSITE LEATHER EDITION. Introduction by Thomas Caldecot Chubb. Illustrated frontispiece, illustrations by Federico Castellon. The beautifully bound genuine leather was hand selected from individually tanned hides. Sophisticated three raised ridges on spine, lettering and designs on binding stamped with gorgeous accents of 22kt. Gold--a hallmark of fine bookmaking. Textured and shaded, acid-neutral paper won't turn yellow over time. Pages are Smyth-sewn into the binding for permanence (not glued like ordinary books). Endpapers are beautiful satin moiré. Edges gilded on three sides to enhance the book's elegance. Satin ribbon page marker bound into book. Condition: Two tiny, almost not noticeable dings to extremity of rear cover (probably shelf wear); else overall Fine. Book never read (purchased by physician for display in bookcase). Kept in temperature-controlled environment. Book does not have the smoke smell of cigarette or cigar smoker. Simply a beautiful, full leather-bound book in gift-giving condition. This book recounts Sir Kenneth, Prince Royal of Scotland, in the Holy Land. Its main character is Richard Coeur de Lion, who would become King Richard I of England.
