There is significant foxing thoughout both volumes, corner wear on Volume I. Volume II has a square chip on the upper 1 /2" of the spine. the spine has been reinforced. The hinges are very well preserved. Overall a worn but serviceable set. In this work and in "Incidents of Travel in Yucatan" (1843) author John Lloyd Stephens brings to life his discoveries, during expeditions between 1839 and 1842, of the ruined remains of the Maya civilization of Central America.
