    Notes: Third edition. Octavo. Contemporary full mottled calf, gilt spine and boarders, marbled endpapers. Contemporary bookseller's ticket of William Figgis, Dublin, on the front pastedown. Small early owner's name lightly erased on the front free endpaper, front board detached, endpapers lightly faded at the edges, else a good sound copy. Scott's second full-length narrative poem, a historical romance of 16th Century Britain culminating in the Battle of Flodden Field. A best-seller in its day which went through four printings in the first six months of 1808.
